Sarah Rolle, Director of Technology for Elisabeth Morrow School, shared tips on GoogleDocs Tips for Administrators.

How are administrators using GoogleDocs?

  • Master Schedule
  • Course Selection
  • Every district-wide innovation is done through GoogleDocs. One example from New Zealand is doing grant writing online. It minimizes what is necessary for travel…there’s a lot of back-n-forth.

Audience Example: Principal is using pre-observation form that she shares with the teacher. When the principal does the observation, the principal takes notes that are immediately available to the teacher. (This wouldn’t fly in Texas!).

Google makes lots of backups. However, if you want more try backupify.com and/or cloudhero.com

NOTE: If you sign up (or signed up) for GoogleApps for Education, Postini is free for the term of the contract. Google Corporate is apparently working on pricing options with Postini, so stay tuned!
