Last week—or was it this week when I was feeling lousy due to illness?—someone joined Plurk. I asked them, “What do you hope to get out of Plurk?” Her response was, “Find sources of free images.”
Free images abound on the Web…in fact, I once carried around image libraries in PCX format (uh, someone tell me they remember PCX image format) on 3.5” floppy disks. Then, I started collecting image CDs, and then it finally sank in—the Internet is here! Don’t need to do that anymore. Who needs black-n-white images when you can get color?
Below is a list of some of my favorite image sites, but what prompted this blog entry is ImageBase, a free image source that I just became aware of via Twitter (I’m home sick, getting ready to go back to sleep).
Thanks to evmaiden for the retweet! Some guidelines about usage:
What does “free to use” actually mean?
It means you can use the images for whatever you want, personal,
commercial or non-profit use for free.
This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported
Surely there are some you can use…so jump on in!
