Supporting Moodle

EdTech

Some more reasons why Moodle is worth considering…such reasons shouldn’t be considered as a justification to embrace Moodle, but rather, a documentation of why some are adopting Moodle. **Here are two reasons from NSTONEIT.com:
**

  1. Most schools do not know what they want!
  2. The Main Cost isn’t the hosting and technical expertise but the time for training and creation of content.

In regards to item #2, as Moodle users move forward to more serious implementation and it’s adopted by the organization as the tool to use, the effort required to make sure Moodle is able to work at the enterprise level DOES INCREASE dramatically. This point seems obvious but was driven home after listening—and viewing the slideshow—to Amanda Hefner, Northside ISD and Aldine ISD as they discussed their implementation. I’ve asked her for a copy of her presentation and hope to share the podcast in the week to come. Unfortunately, I left my notes (my laptop battery had expired about this time) at work.

More on this later…it’s an issue worth revisiting.
