Twitter Followers

Having seen a tweet about limiting the people you follow, I decided to give it a try and use Untwollow to unsubscribe from about 1400 people I was following. My target number was about 150 but no way to accomplish that. I’d been subscribing to anyone who followed me but realized that I didn’t need to…I can still follow anyone who tweets at me just by creating a custom search that tells me. This has given me a bit more freedom in creating search lists and not having to scan hundreds of tweets that were flowing in…while I have likened the experience to dipping your hand into a swiftly moving stream, I am enjoying the slower pace of incoming tweets.
For example, using Nambu per @willrich45’s suggestion at TEC-SIG Presentation, I’ve setup a series of Tweet Searches about stuff I find interesting. Ah well, I’ll see how it works out. The amazing thing is that there’s no shortage of good stuff to learn…
