Presentation Feedback
It’s so nice to get positive feedback on presentations, so forgive me for sharing it with you (as I have to put it somewhere).
What Event Was This?
As I mentioned in previous blog entries back at the start of February, 2025, I had the opportunity to present on a variety of topics at an event. The event was the TCEA 2025 Convention and Exposition. That event has, for the most part, been focused on Ed Tech, but given the latest research and information out there, it appears to be transitioning towards more evidence-based instructional practices.
That, of course, doesn’t mean technology of some sort doesn’t find its way into presentations, but it’s no longer “60 Tech Tools in 60 Minutes” (not that I did those type of sessions anyways but you get the idea). My sessions, you can find covered in the round up blog entry I did.

Mastering Summarization Techniques for Deep Learning
This was a terrific session. I have a better understanding of Cornel notes. This gave me some ideas for helping kids with summarizing. My 8th graders struggle with this so I am excited to bring it back to the classroom.

Collaborative Learning in Digital Spaces
Loved the brief explanation of John Hattie’s research and how collaborative learning strategies fall into that barometer of influence. I first learned about his research at this conference and I’ve appreciated seeing it tied into the presentations about instructional strategies with technology.
